Activities the Association undertakes on behalf of The Royal Regiment include the following:

  • Donation in support of sending serving Gunners on OP Take Post 2025 – 80th Anniversary Liberation of Holland Commemorative Battlefield Tour.
  • Gunner Peer Support Programme (GPS)
  • Support the publishing of "With a Few Guns" Gunners in Afghanistan, Volume 2
  • Management of this RCA/RCAA website
  • Publication of the monthly e-newsletter, “The Canadian Gunner News”.
  • In cooperation with the RCA Regimental Fund provision of a Christmas gift to deployed Gunners.
  • Annual provision of two bursaries for serving Reserve Force Member post-secondary education.
  • Participation in the annual Conference of Defence Associations (CDA)/ CDA Institute (CDAI) conference on Defence and Security.
  • Publication of Volume III of The Gunners of Canada.
  • Annual RCA Board and RCAA Annual General Meeting.
  • Sponsorship of the TD Meloche Home and Automobile Insurance affinity program.
  • Donation in support of the construction of a Master Gunner’s Residence on Yorke Island

Fund to assist Gunners in Need.

Donation in support of completion of an "unoffical" history of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery's contribution to the Afghanistan War. The authors have committed to a gargantuan task and funds raised will be used to cover expenses for publication, marketing and other costs.

Donation in support of the reconstruction of the Master Gunner's Residence on Yorke Island, a World War II fortification on the coast of British Columbia.

- Conduct a ten-day battlefield study immediately prior to and during the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands.
– Sponsor 30 to 40 deserving Non-Commissioned Members and Junior Officers representing every Regular Force and Reserve Artillery unit, who will be sponsored through raised donations.
– Invite other serving, retired Gunners and their families, Association members and others, who will pay their own way.
– Aim for two bus loads of participants (80-90 pax). – Engage a professional company that specializes in battlefield studies, with professional historians.
– Arrange all travel activities (flights, land travel, hotels, meals, insurance, etc.) through a professional travel agency.
– Conduct with the assistance of the RCAA, a major Non-Public fundraising campaign at national, local, and unit level to raise approximately $6,000-6,500 per person. Ideally each participating member should contribute $500 towards the trip.
